Changing title deeds when remortgaging

This is my first post and I'm hoping someone can help. So,I finally plucked up the courage to tell my husband about my £29k credit card debt that I had been living with and managing/not managing for 6 years. He has been amazing and supportive and I should have told him years ago instead dealing with it alone. We are consolidating the debt into the mortgage and due to my very poor credit rating my husband is making a sole mortgage application.
This was agreed in principle but when he started the application he was asked if the deeds were in joint names which they are as I currently on the mortgage. The mortgage company HSBC have said the deeds need to be in the sole name of my husband to proceed. I am happy to do this in the short term and then put them back on at a later date. I have seen that the deeds can be changed directly with Land Registry rather than paying out to a solicitor to do the same job.
I am after any advice anyone can give me on whether this is correct or what I/we should do.
Thanks

Your existing lender would need to agree. Likewise no lender will accept you changing anything at the Land Registry. This always has to be actioned by a solicitor acting on the lenders behalf.0
