How much different was your pay for January compared to a normal month?Dwy galon, un dyhead,
Dwy dafod ond un iaith,
Dwy raff yn cydio’n ddolen,
Dau enaid ond un taith.0 -
So the most you are missing is 2 days, I really don't think 2 days UC is going to make that much difference to your ability to pay your rent - especially as we are now nearly 3 months on from the dates in question.0

Yes it does make a difference!!!
My Universal Credit at the end of Feb was Zero!!!!
They base it on assesement periods.
3 months on I am still trying to get it resolved!0 -

What difference will having a leaving date of 29th versus 31st make to your claim?I
Did your former employer give you any paperwork when you left? A statement showing how much pay/ notice/ holiday pay you were receiving and how it was calculated? Anything confirming the date of cessation of your employment?
Probably better to post questions about how UC is calculated on the dedicated Benefits Board.0 -
If they terminated your employment on the 22nd of January and gave you pay in lieu of notice then 22nd is correct. If it was a garden leave sort of arrangement where you remained employed for the week but didn't have to come into work then it would be the week later. Did they give you a termination letter stating how it would work?“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0

You left on January 22nd and were paid one weeks notice so forgive me if I'm being thick but doesn't that take you to the end of January ?
No. It takes it up to 29th January, not 31st. Unless the employer is willing to confirm that the termination date is wrong there's nothing much the OP can do.
When I worked at DWP it was common to see P45s with dates which didn't match the end date stated by the claimant. Many firms don't actually seem to realise how important that date can be. When we spoke to employers to get clarification we would get answers along the line of "That's the date we run payroll", "It was about that date", "I didn't think it mattered". Unless we could get the actual date the claimant was paid to we had no option but to use the date on the P45.0
