Where can I buy dried figs (Lion Brand if poss)?

I used to love the Lion Brand dried figs. Came like a block of compressed fig, and you could just peel a bit off and eat it. I haven't seen them for a while- anyone know a stockist? I'm in the North but I occasionally travel.

The partially dried figs don't do it for me. As they are partly moist, they contain preservatives, and I react really badly with these chemicals...

Thanks!

  • I've seen them in independent Asian shops - can't tell you which ones specifically I'm afraid, but that's where I'd look. Independent greengrocers and market stall used to stock them, but I haven't seen any for a while
  • Thanks, I'll have a look next time I'm in manchester. Might take a photo print-out if I remember.
