How much do they lend ?

Im sure each organisation is different but generally do lenders offer 3 times your salary when offering a mortgage?

And what multiples do they offer when two salaries are involved.

My partner and I have a property to sell each and with the profit we want to buy a house together and may need a mortgage so this is really just a general question at this stage

Yes, lenders will offer 3 times salary. Will also go much higher if your circumstances fit their criteria. Over 4.5 times is where lenders will get extremely picky.

Generally up to 4.5x dependent on your circumstances. A small few who may offer slightly more.

It would actually be easier to use one of the lenders calculators to give you a rough idea of what you can expect.

Just stick both of your salaries in, and note down any committed spending, and it'll give you a rough number.
