token payment plan ending

Hi all
Stepchange have been in touch to say that my TPP is coming to an end (nearly a year old), and that I need to contact them as I told them I hoped our circumstances would have changed by now (they haven't), and they need to look at other debt solutions. I assume this means going onto a DMP, but tbh we don't have any spare income, and are still struggling. Any ideas what the minimum payment Stepchange will accept into a DMP is? I don't feel confident going it alone at the moment as I feel Stepchange have a bit of clout with the lenders and DCAs. Most of the debt have now defaulted and gone to DCAs, just 2 x Barclaycards and another credit card hanging on.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

Hi Petra,
I have had a look at your diary to check the details of your situation, and you mentioned that your debts are still around £100k and you are still having issues with the CCJ, charging order, full and final offers and what to do going forward, so here are few tips to help.
Firstly, I agree with Sourcrates and think posting a SOA would be helpful to evaluate things. You mention that you are only able to pay token payments, and are homeowners, which will limit the options to a degree, if you are trying to stay in the property, and if it has equity. You will need to be able to pay much more per month (than £1) to consider an IVA, and I think the same would be true for a DMP.
Talk to StepChange about what sort of term they would consider. If a DMP is unsuitable at the moment because it would go on too long, then self negotiation would be the alternative. Please don't worry about this process. The free debt charities can guide you, give you sample letters and you will find lots of support on here too.
If you are still struggling with the CCJ and charging order on your neighbours property then try and get cheap or free legal advice. You can look at www.lawcentres.org.uk and legal beagles. Good luck,
Laura
