Auction Purchase - Charges not removed

I recently purchased a property at Auction and unfortunately one of the charges (which has apparently been satisfied from a prior purchase) remains.
I have been told that this charge was satisfied and should have been removed in a transaction from January 2018. My purchase at Auction was then March 2018.
This issue is that the charge still remains and the lender will not give me anymore detail because I am not the account holder, yet I have the current interest in the property. Is there anything I can do from between the rock and the hard place to force the issue of the removal of the charge?
I would appreciate any guidance.

What do the auction terms state about charges being removed?
Did you get the legal pack checked by your solicitor before bidding? What advice did they give?0 -
Personally it's all a bit underhand. The legal pack contained lots of information pertaining to the prior occupants and that all mortgages secured against the property would be covered by the sale price.
Legal Report didn't present any issues and then we bid at auction and the seller is a limited company rather than the names in the legal pack and by then we are bound to purchase the property by the contract. I could have sacrificed my deposit but felt on the information I had at hand, the issue would and could be resolved rightly or wrongly.0
