Additional Payments for Overtime

Hi,
I have a question relating to overtime and the recent change in the law regarding additional payments that are made if working overtime for 3 consecutive months or longer. I regularly claim overtime as part of my employment and understand that due to the extended hours I am working, I may be entitled to additional payments.
However, when I raised this with my employer, I was told that because I earn over 40K pa, I am not entitled to the additional payments. When I asked why, they could not provide me with an answer.
Looking online reveals no legislation pertaining to any upper pay limit on receiving such payments.
Therefore, I was wondering if anyone who was in the same pay bracket as me gets these additional payments or if they have been refused them by their employer and may have been told a reason why?
Thanks
Scott

I think you'll need to explain what the 3 month and additional payment changes consist of, as it's not something I've heard of and there's nothing on the gov.uk overtime pages about it.0

Are you confusing working time regulations with overtime payments?Originally Posted by shortcrust
