Transfer of equality -advice please

Hi

I’m looking for some advice last June/July tome me and my husband complete transfer of equality forms and sent them to our mortgage company. My husband and his ex are currently on the mortgage and we have agreed to have his ex removed and myself added.
All was approved a month or two later but we were told by the mortgage company that their solicitors needs to put this into writing and confirmation but we are still waiting ...we have had no letter/s confirming this and we are despartly warning to move due to being overcrowded but we can’t until we get this paper work. It’s been a total of 10/11months now. My husband has phoned the mortgage company several times only to be told they cannot rush it and that they are very behind.
Is this length of time normal? Is there anything we can do? Please help!!
Many thanks
Jade
