Consent to let extension with HSBC

Does anyone here have experience of applying for a consent to let extension with HSBC?

I've got consent to let on my residential mortgage. This is my first consent to let and it has been granted for a year which is ending soon.

So, I am applying for extension and I would appreciate any hints as to how to best present/justify my situation in order for my application to be successful :)

you have to be truthful in your extension and anything else will be fraud. There is no guarantee they will grant an extension.

For more security a BTL would be best as you know you won't have a problem with the bank refusing consent to let potentially.

  • you're totally right. I guess I'm more curious about experience with HSBC in such cases - do they tend to extend or is it rather unlikely?

CTL is at the discretion of the lender and granted on case by case basis. If there's little possibility of you returning to the property then you should think further ahead and start to plan to switch the mortgage to BTL.
