Part time contract being made to work full time

My other half recently started working for ATOS signing a part time contract, needed for childcare.
Originally, she was told she would have to go through the two week training full time, which she passed.
After starting the role properly though she's been given conflicting messages about when she can start part time; being told it would be after getting five reports signed off at the top grade, then another time being told it would be at least six months!
Others on part time contracts are still being made to work full time after seven months with no end in sight, some colleagues have left as a result.
Any ideas what route to take with this one or if it's legal? She's gone through management but no joy. Was sold to her on the basis of being a flexible, family friendly work environment as well
Thanks

Did she not agree the hours before the training?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

Yeah it was agreed (via the recruitment agency) and the contract was signed with her days specified, still her, and her colleagues, told they have to do full time hours0
-
Other than the issue with the hours what is everyone like ?
Maybe consider leaving.0 -
I'm assuming this isn't the latest incarnation of our returning dilemma AI/ bot.
Your partner is going to have to go through the contract she signed with a fine toothcomb and look at every piece of correspondence, email, advert etc to build a full case. I have the horrible feeling she may have signed something agreeing to pay back the training fees/ costs if she leaves within a set time. I'm guessing she'd want to avoid doing that.
She also needs to decide whether she wants to fight what's going on or accept it (if she walks away, she opens up the scenario above).
If she wants part time hours, she needs to revert to the hours she originally agreed to as soon as possible (ie this week tell the boss that from next week she will only be in on x days for y hours) to avoid beiing deemed accepting a full time role - this might mean a longer 'probabtionary period' but hey ho. They then, may agree, or decide to let her go (as she's under 2 year threshold) but then they shouldn't be able to claim back the t training costs.Originally Posted by shortcrust

In which world is ATOS a "flexible, family friendly work environment"? These (and from the sounds of it, your other half) are the people tasked by the govt to fabricate reports to deny disabled people financial support. Did you expect them to be decent or honest?0

So when she says to her manager/HR (in writing) "I only agreed to full time for the training. I have now completed this; I am not able to continue to work full time and now need to just work the days for which I am contracted " and waves the contract at them, what is the response?
They would appear to the outside observer to be taking the proverbial. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I assume you are getting paid for working these extra hours??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
-
Also make sure you get the holidays for thee extra hours.
Common scam low contractual hours to reduce holiday pay.0
