Hi - my landlord registration is about to lapse - no written reminder sent - I have a longterm tenant, no issues, do I really need this?

    From NI Direct.

How to register or renew registration
Landlords can renew their registration eight weeks before the end of their current registration.

A message will be sent to the email address provided by the landlord eight weeks before the end of their current registration.

As to your question, I have no idea I'm afraid.

I'd imagine that if something were to happen you would find more problems for being an unregistered landlord though.

My registration was due in February .I got the reminder email then they wrote to me at my home address .I didnt renew until the new tax year but it automatically renewed from February .If you want to receive any grants the property must be registered .
    Its £70 for 3 years
    I think its £70 a year in Scotland .
