Surely the compensation (if needed at all) should go to the person who suffered due to the data breach.0

I once had my account-opening confirmation letter sent by a bank to another customer by mistake (along with their own), who helpfully phoned me (since he had been given all my contact info...). The bank sent me a case of wine, without me prompting them for anything. Which seemed fair enough. Not sure he ought to have been given anything though...0

Unless the letter was asking for some action by the intended recipient I'd have gone for option 4. Straight in the bin and on with my day.I am debating what to do. Do I have a responsibility to report this to the Information Commissioner? What should I do?
I think that's a funny question, both in the ha ha and the peculiar way.0
