Laura Ashely fabric

I desperately want to get some curtains made in Laura Ashley Marciana material. The problem is that it's £30/m and I need 30 metres of it...

Does anyone know of anywhere other than Laura Ashley which stocks Laura Ashley material? I've tried a few discount places such as the discount fabric warehouse in NW London and although they had loads of discounted designer material such as Cath Kidson and Osbourne and Little, they had little if no Laura Ashley despite advertising that they carry some Laura Ashley stock.

Would be grateful for any suggestions of alternative places to look.

Many thanks

This may be a long shot but a couple of months ago I managed to pick up a roll of Laura Ashley pink gingham off ebay really cheaply... Good luck...

In this months Ideal Home (the one with the free baubles) there is a Laura Ashley catalogue with some 25% off home furnishings betwen 9th and 18th November - not sure if this covers fabrics too. Combined with Quidco makes it a little less painful?

  • try dunelm, they have a good range of fabric, or so my wife says! Shes just spent a morning altering a pair of pink gingham (large checks) LAshley bought curtains which were cut on the wonk by the maker. Absolute shocker of a cut. I believe they are made in a Chinese sweat shop too.

Don't know how easy it is to get to Mid Wales. There's a discounted shop in Bear Lanes, Newtown, Powys.

Since its not a standard shop, phone 0871 223 1340 and ask if they have in stock?

Keep your eyes on e-bay but, if you can, wait for the Laura Ashley sale. I was in your situation a while ago and found my fabric on e-bay but, as luck would have it, it came up in the sale on the Laura Ashley website at about the same time and my fabric was £10 a metre, which ended up being cheaper than e-bay. I think I also found a code somewhere which helped.

My local Laura Ashley seems to be on almost permanent sale at the moment but I've noticed that there is variation between store and website prices. It is worth keeping your eyes on both. If you can bear to wait until the New Year, one way or another, I'm sure you'll find what you want at a price you want!
  • Hi there,

I work for Laura Ashley and must say you have good taste :-) Marcianna is a new fabric for the autumn winter season and probably won't be discounted as easily as the long standing fabrics on offer however if you get down to your local store there is a leaflet that is out and about with discount coupons on the back page- it is the christmas publication and offers 25% off home furnishings which covers fabric and is for friends and family. These will no doubt go in the upper market newspapers also. The discount starts from Friday and may be offered with the option of opening an account.... Your choice but you do get privilege points which amount to vouchers off your next purchase. Hope that helps!!!!

  • Wow, thanks for all of the responses that appeared yesterday.

I've managed to get hold of some of the discount vouchers, which will cut the cost a little!
  • Tigerlily - I'm also after dupion in duck egg and austen in natural. Would you expect to see these materials discounted in the christmas sale or are basic / staple materials such as these usually left at full price?
  • anyone know who supplies the Verbier Woven Fabric thats in dunelm at £14.99 per metre? ??
