You need an emulsifying oil cleanser, the body shop range isn’t.

I think the Deciem hylamide one I suggested to you is, Elemis cleansing oil definitely is (but hylamide is a better cleanser).
Look for the word emulsifying or emulsify.

I know what you mean about a messy basin, I haven’t noticed that with hylamide.

There is a 20% off discount code on Look Fantastic which applies to Hylamide High Efficiency Cleanser ATM:D

I!!!8217;ve been thinking of trying that, is it an oil that emulsifies?

A good cleanser for removing make up, hylamide the clear oil in the tall blue box. It!!!8217;s really good.

Sanskrit Sapions (Niod) is a really good non make up cleanser.
Thanks- I've tried the Hylamide but didn't like it (like I say, I've tried LOADS!) I'm hoping to be gifted the Niod though ;) but was wary that it didn't have a pump applicator which I know sounds a bit stupid to take issue with, but as it's an oil-to water cleanser, allI can think is how much is going to be wasted because it's so much harder to only get out the amount you need for a single cleanse.

With the Hylamide (also a non pump bottle) I found it left an oily residue and wasn't so easy to remove, there seems to be one hang up or another with everything I've tried apart from the Precleanse. What I struggle with though is it's designed to be part of a 2-step cleanse, but as it's actually the best cleanser for removing my make up, why do I need to do another cleanse as par to the regieme, yet other cleansers that don't work so well (if at all!) don't mention anything about following through with a second cleanse let alone a toner!
  • I used to use special cleansers, including bioderma micellar water, but I've returned to using a bar of Dove soap and a flannel. Soap up, remove soap with flannel, repeat once. Takes my (full face of) makeup & sun cream off; makes my skin clean, without drying it out, and a bar lasts for ages. Simple (&not particularly exciting! No fancy packaging or advertising), but my skin is looking pretty good these days.

First cleanse removes the make up and or SPF, second cleanse cleanses the skin, try it for a month using a flannel/muslin/micro cloth in warm water and I would be surprised if you don't see a really good difference.

This is an old article, but still stands good, pretty much all the skin care bloggers male and female advocate 2 step cleansing, products don't need to be expensive either. Superdrug, Boots, Body Shop, Lush, Garnier, the Cerave one from Boots gets lots of love and they all last for ages, not much product needed if doing it properly. I take the eye make up off with a cotton pad first so my cloths don't get gunky and the sink blocked:eek:

It's fine, I already do a 2-step cleanse and have done so for years ;) However, I don't feel I should need to take off my make up separately if I am already cleansing and using a 2-step method, this is the very least I'd expect of my cleansers!

The niod ss is in a horrible tube!!!
It’s like an old fashioned metal toothpaste tube and the damn cap is tricky to get back on. But Deciem are a bit rubbish with their bottles and delivery. The Chemistry pumps range are good, but the ordinary, hylamide and niod are rubbish.

I never get residue from the hylamide cleanser, I use a flannel & hot water to remove, maybe that helps.

I like a cleanser with a muslin cloth or flannel , most I've used are fine. Liz earle, was the original one I used but cost more, I think superdrug do a copy not used that one yet. And M and S do a copy that was good and will buy again.
Micellar water garnier is ok. I use cotton wool. With that though.

  • Hiya, I popped into m&s today and they have an offer on their pure range. If you buy one of the new face masks, you get the hot cloth cleanser (£10) for free. Used it tonight and it smells gorgeous.

Johnson's baby Soft Wash, takes everything on and leaves my skin fresh and clean. And it's only £2.25 a bottle.
