Tesco Clubcard Credit Card I'm unable to stop marketing emails.
To stop getting emails from market research companies with links to their "non Tesco" website. I have to telephone and ask the Tesco Operator to remove permission.

Is this a marketing ploy ?

Why when i have so much control about payment direct debit and alerts I am unable to stop marketing emails and contacts in the control panel?

If your phone isn't working do you have a mobile phone that you could make the call on? Alternatively you can wait until your line is repaired and then call Tesco. You may, reasonably, be unhappy that you cannot make the change online, but this is not an insurmountable problem.

I have far more control over my account why not allow me to disable marketing emails ?

Have you ever considered saving your money under a mattress ? Something tells me banking really isn't for you :rotfl:

Yes OP I get what you are saying.

I agree you should be able to do online and not have to phone them up.

Does sound like a marketing ploy as it is far easier to click on a link than physically make a call and they know that.

Why don't you just mark it up as junk and then you never have to see it again....at least if your phone is broken you wont receive any texts anymore from other bank accounts.
