Bankruptcy search

I am in the process of buying a house. I have just received a letter from my sol's saying that a bankruptcy search is showing against my name and has been linked to me! It is nothing to do with me and looks like some pub landlords with the same surname but completely different first names 50 miles away. How the hell does someone get away with confusing the two?! I am really upset by this as it must be showing up on a credit file somewhere but I have never seen it. How do I get it categorically removed so that a search comes out clean? I am really worried that some bankrupt has been using my name. I have an unusual first name so I don't understand how I have got connected with some bankrupt pub landlords in birmingham. It shows further amended details ie actual names of the actual bankrupts on the search so why is it still being associated with me?

It must admit it does explain some weird phone calls I received a few years ago from people with birmingham accents. If all it took was the real debtors to give out my phone number ie a random one then it is pretty remiss that it stays attached several years later.

How do I get this misinformation expunged?

I did the search myself and there is no exact match for me. Looks like the chumpy solicitors are trying to associate me with anyone with the same surname within 50 miles! I shall bookmark the insolvency search as it looks very useful.
