Northern Rock Mortgage Paid, Struggling to get overpayment back

I have moved house on 04-04-18 my solictor paid my mortgage off on this date using an old redemption statement, therefore a payment dated 01-04-18 was not taken into account.
16 days later i am still waiting for the refund.
Should i be entitled to interest for the failure to return within a reasonable amount of time.
I also had to pay a fee of £250 to end the mortgage early, even though the mortgage was with Northern rock and was no longer in a tied in deal. Has anyone successfully reclaimed this charge.

The £250 is (probably) just a standard redemption fee, not one for ending it early.
As for interest on the month overpaid - it's probably just pennies given how low interest rates currently are, so is it worth arguing about? But you ought to have had a refund by now, you checked it hasn't gone back to the solicitors?0 -
Thank you for your reply.
I spoke to Northern Rock today and they havent sent it at all yet.So they have asked if it can be sent to my address rather than the solicitors.
It's very frustating and while its only £728 I'm annoyed it is taking so long.0 -
When I left Northern Rock, the payment was credited back to the account from which it was taken. Not an option for you?I am a mortgage broker.
