Do I need a DBS check?

Didn't know where to put this so I thought I would try here...

I have a great interest, and a fair bit of knowledge, in certain aspects of wildlife. A teacher from a local Primary School has asked if I would give a small talk to one of their classes about hedgehogs. I have never done anything like this before but would be happy to help them, but not sure if I would need to be DBS checked in order to do this, although obviously it would be in a classroom environment with the teachers present etc.

I work in law enforcement and currently have SC Clearance, but was DV until my job changed a few years back, so clearly I have no security or criminal issues so don't mind being DBS checked but of course I guess it would cost me - hence posting in the MS forums!

Any and all advice appreciated as always...

As the teacher will be present there is no need to have a DBS check.

It's normally free for people in volunteering roles.

It's only needed if you are actually left alone with vulnerable adults or with children.
