I would suggest you contact Stepchange a debt company that is not for profit and they will help you work out what you can afford to pay your creditors but you cant miss payments or its frowned upon,

They will help you work out a income and expenditure form and this will give you an disposable income figure and this is used to pay off your creditors.

They will then let you know what the process is but its namely to make token payments all non priority debts and then you send money each month to step change and they pay out a percetnage to each creditor on your list.

Also you could contact your local CAB for debt advice, using the postcode search here you will find your local one.

You mention you have 2k overdraft with Halifax/BOS and you pay £90 a month in fees, is this a combination of unauthorised fees and authorised? as a 2k overdraft costs £59 based on the new payment structure, but doesn't include non authorised overdraft fees,
Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks, will check it out. And nope, that's the normal rate. £2.84 a day when you're fully overdrawn (but not over)

I don't know of any financial help available for ADHD sufferers, but there are definitely budgeting tips out there geared specifically to ADHD, since overspending is a common result of it not managing the disorder (though without an income, budgeting isn't going to be the solution to your current issues).

An official diagnosis will help when dealing with creditors, though, since you can point to the fact you're taking steps to manage the issue. You want to get on the missed payment for council tax pretty sharpish, since that's a priority debt and failing to keep to a repayment arrangement usually results in them demanding the amount in full. Brace yourself for bailiffs.

Assuming you have a formal report educational Psychologist etc, you should be entitled to disabled students allowance this would fund extra help or equipment assist you with your studies.

There will also he hardship funds and bursaries attached to you Uni Student support will be able to sign post you.

Each of the npower has a charitable fund that can assist in hardship and arrears as do most utility companies, details are on their website so it worth doing some research and applying for all those you are areas with.

As a student, should you be paying council tax? Most students are exempt or was this from before you started in education?

I would suggest a job will help you balance your day to finances better. Maybe start with a few hours per week and see how you manage to balance things.

It worth setting up the apps and payment stoppers if you find that you shop impulsively as part of you condition?

You say you're a student, could you not convert your account into a student account which has a fee-free overdraft?!

Could even ask the bank nicely if they'll back date it (doubt if they will, but doesn't hurt to ask!) and get a refund on fees paid.

Is there any sort of scheme or anything I could get support through? I'm currently a 1st year student at uni, unemployed. I started meds today and applied to loads of jobs but it'll likely take about 500hours of work to pay that off in a min. wage part-time job. I'm back with my parents, almost no outgoings. Get a loan/bursary from Uni but my last payment is next month and then I've got no incomings for the next 5month or so. Even something to consolidate them and stop the interest as I've already paid my bank about £2-3k in overdraft fee's alone. I tried the advice on the forum sending them a letter asking them to give me a break but they just sent me a patronising pamphlet on managing my money better

So at10 hours a week thats only one year. So this time next year you could be clear.
