Got until this Friday to come to an arrangement with my old bank!
Loan £18,561
Overdraft £2,539
Account £585
Total = £21685 You should have £268 left do you think they will accept this.
Bank Mastercard £2,200
(paying off minimum)
Current bank overdraft £1000 owing If you cut back as shown below I think you could save at least £150 which you could use to pay this off. Once cleared you could then concentrate on the above debt.
Ive heard a lot of people advise about payplan. Maybe talk to them and they could help you come to a managable amount to pay.
Monthly out
Mortgage – part and part
Building society 1 £230
Building society 2 £51
Mastercard minimum £20 You need to increase this see above or else you will be paying it forever.
Council tax £62
Groundrent £5
Gas £18
Electric £66 This is way too much. I think you could prob get this down to £30 if not more. Try moneysupermarket.
Water £22
Union fees £16
House insurance £42 Again try moneysupermarket to see if you can get it cheaper.
TV licence £11
Paying back friend
( 18 months to go) £80 Could you put this off for sometime or reduce the payment until you are back on your feet?
Card protection £3
Sky £87* This is too much. I pay £25 for freeview, t'internet and phone. I was paying £70 but rang virgin and told them I was leaving cos I couldnt afford it anymore and they came up with a fabby deal. There are always adds on the telly for Virgin and Sky with great package offers. You need to look into this. I think you could half this bill at least and still have a lot of good Sky channels
Virgin landline phone £34 see above
Virgin broadband £37 see above
Vodafone contract mobile £47 This seems a lot. Are you out of the 12 month contract. Can you change supplier? You could just advise Vodafone it is too much and you cannot afford it anymore and see what deal they come up with. Or you could go onto PAYG. O2 do some really good deals with bolt ons that work out cheap
Pay as u go fone £20 Why do you have two phones? Can this be reduced to £10
Pet insurance £13
Car tax £10 Do you put this aside every month
MOT / repairs £40 as above
car Insurance
(inc breakdown) £42
Petrol £80*
Food /social/ £ 100 Do you shop at the cheaper shops. Aldi, Netto and lidl are cheap and can reduce your bills.
Clothes/toiletries £50 This seems alot for clothes and toiletries. Im sure you could cut this back.
Christmas £20
Birthdays/cards/gifts etc £20
Total £1,946
Big outstandings – (not been tackled for years due to depression / ostrich syndrome)
Dentists – not been for years & desperately need lots of work
Car – on it’s last legs & needed for work
Central Heating – broken - big bill to fix
Electrics – no lighting in parts of house
Fence - decayed
Massive shortfall in mortgages with 10 and 7 years to go
Tax man - not sure but think I owe a lot!
IN
Child benefit £76
Salary £2138
Leaving you £268
Also a few standard life shares which I will now arrange to cash in but wont be much Make sure you use this to pay off some debt.
HTH. You need to write down your outgoings and stick to a budget. And think before you spend. Do you really need to?AMxxx
Proud to be dealing with my debt
