Best rate for 5 or 10 year fixed?

I'm currently looking for a 5 to 10 year fixed mortgage, can anyone point me in the right direction please? What fees am i looking at to switch? Ball park figure would be good, it's getting really confusing...
I'm not planning on moving for that lengh of time so i thought that term would be best for me. I currently have 7.75% - shameful i know.....:eek:

  • Depends on how much you need to borrow and LTV.

    Currently looking at doing a 5 year fixed myself. The good rates have huge fees. Just got to compare them and work out the real cost over the fixed rate period remembering to factor in your current mortgage closing fee.

    Have you tried the comparison sites eg moneysupermarket.com?
  • I have looked on moneysupermarket, but you don't get all the big mortgage lenders on there. I just wanted to know if there was more out there.
    I looking at borrowing 150k. Sorry don't know what LTV is?
  • You may want to wait a week before committing, fixed rates are about to drop a little. Nationwide have released some very good rates as of the 26th and Chelsea BS are also changing. You cant go much wrong with a nationwide mortgage!
