Hi, hope someone can help me please.
I have waited 4 weeks for dbs so far and its only on stage 2! I've called several times to be told i have to just wait and i cant do anything untill its passed 8 weeks. I've tried calling thames valley but they said they cant advice on individual applications.
I handed my notice in for my old job so have now finished and cant start my new job untill this is done. Silly really to hand my notice in but last year i had a dbs and it came back in a week, nothing has changed since the last check, havent moved or anything so i dont understand why its taking so long and thought it would be done by now.
Is there anyone i can contact or is there anything i can do to hurry it along? I have a family and at the moment have no money coming in
Any help much appreciated

As you say, you jumped the gun.
DBS comes back when it comes back. There is no way to hurry it along. If they are quiet, it comes back in a week, if they are busy, it can take much much longer.
I'd suggest signing up to the £13 a year checking service rather than applying for a new DBS each time. Much quicker in future.0
