CCJ that isn’t mine..

Hello, so, I’m currently looking to move house but I didn’t pass the credit check. I checked my file and noticed I had a CCJ for a catalogue that I never had. After doing some digging I found out that my Mother had got the catalogue out in my name because she wasn’t approved. She Used ‘Mrs’ as my title and I think at the time I was in university and unmarried.

Since this my mother has passed away and I’ve no way of sorting it out (I don’t want to have to pay a debt that isn’t mine),

Is there anyway I can get this removed with out having to pay it off?

Raise a dispute with the CRAs it appears on.

You'll need to report it as fraud, giving your mother's details.

Since your mother passed away, how did you find out that your mother opened the catalogue card? And it may be easiest to just wait for the CCJ out, how old is it now? Alternatively, you will have to report this to police and action fraud, though against a dead person this may get complicated.

Who dealt with your late mother's estate?
They should have sorted out any debts or was the CCJ applied before her death?
