Flexible working request

Hi,
In January of this year, I submitted a flexible working request.
I understand that the whole process, including any appeal, should be completed within a 3 month period.
It's now more than 3 months since my request was submitted and I'm still waiting a decision.
My line manager has also not followed our internal policies with regards to holding a meeting with me within 28 days of receipt to discuss my request.
I have contacted my line manager at various points for an update but he seems to be dragging his feet.
I do intend discussing this with my union rep for support with this but was hoping for advice from anyone in the know, what my next course of action should be.
Thanks and regards.

A grievance might be premature given that it would be against the manager making the decision. If a union member go through them first.

How long have you been working there? I would speak to HR first, if they are unhelpful, you should go down the grievance route.0

Hi, I've been with the company 12 years. The manager I submitted my request to has recently gone off sick, so I've escalated it to the next level of management above. Will give it a week to see if this shakes anything from the tree... then consider submitting a formal grievance.0
