if you ask on the 'techie' or 'Shop don't drop' boards you may find a much better UK price. although I don't know what product/ spec you're after, I paid £299 for a HD satellite PVR more than a year ago, so you should be able to get same for £199 or less now. Can't comment on why you've been quoted £359.
It's a Topfield 5400 PVR with a 250GB hard-disk. I used various price search engines and didn't find anything below that. Obviously, you can find cheaper models, but I wanted one with a USB port and both terrestrial freeview (UK) and German satellite channels...0 -

Oh - the Toppy is a great piece of kit. Make sure you look up https://www.toppy.org.uk for loads of support and TAPS too.
This is why it's so expensive over here: the combination of Freeview AND non-$ky satellite is not really a UK product, so the seller is "importing" the product from Germany I imagine. They're not cheap in the UK either just as a Freeview box - don't quote me, but I may have paid £269 with the 250Gb disk. Wouldn't be without it, knocks $ky+ into a cocked hat for functionality, shame about the Freeview content compared to $ky.
Has a USB port for (slow) transfer of recorded programs to PC where a simple format change enables archiving and viewing of any TV program (unscrambled) and - more importantly - any radio show you like on your MOP3 player! PODcast? Nahh ....
Fantastic user-developed scheduling and timer devices mean you can record anything you want from any Freeview radio or TV channel on two tuners, and - where a mux is shared - even be watching a third.
End of commercial! Seriously, for TV/radio addicts it's a great product.0 -

Yeah - the 5800 is *much* cheaper (and the standard model you get for UK use). ;-)0
