Costco guarantee for TVs

Can anyone confirm precisely how the Costco guarantee applies to TVs?

Normally, you can take anything back, no matter how long you have had it, and get a no-quibble full refund. This applies whether it is out of the manufacturer's guarantee, or you broke it, or it has been heavily used, or you just don't like it any more. As far as I know, Costco is the only UK retailer that gives such a generous guarantee, and it comes at no extra cost.

It used to be that the only exception was laptop computers, but with TVs, I think they now give a free 3 year guarantee. Is this instead of the normal guarantee, so after 3 years you can't return it for any reason? During the 3 year period, is it still a no-quibble guarantee, so you can return it for any reason whatsoever and get a full refund?

Given the way TV prices are crashing, I find it hard to believe they would give you a full refund after 35 months. But if that is the deal, then it gives you an incredible level of reassurance, as a buyer. Can anyone confirm?

i can confirm that u can get a refund after 35 months as it recently happened to us. we had a tv package which the video went faulty on. on the guarantee form it stated that it gives a 3 yr guarantee for the tv and if u have any problems ur suposed to phone a number they give u. But we wasn't asked if we had contacted the number they just did an automatic refund.

if im unsure about returning anythin to costco i always give them a phone call first just to b sure. up until now they have never refused to do a refund. i have repurchased a new tv from costco again now because after shopping around there is no where that can give u that kind of guarantee. most places will sell u the additional guarantee but wont replace - they just repair. i know that john lewis are currently giving a free guarantee with their tvs but i can bet they wouldnt refund it after such a long period of time.
