Surplus of remortgage, can i change acc put down?

My husband I have completed all the paperwork for a remortgage. Weve had our offer, accepted and all good to do in june when our old mortgage finishes. We have a surplus to be paid to us. My husband filled his acc details in for this but on reflection we would like it to go into our joint acc. Can we changed the acc details and what would we need to do? Can we just ring up and change?
