Should I wait to apply for a loan?

I applied for a loan on 15k with Northern Rock.
They called me today and offered 10k, however I've just found out I've got a new job which includes an 8k payrise! :T

Should I tell NR this in hope that they increase the offer to the 15k I require?
They stated on the website that for offers over 10k I'd need a three payslips, will this be a hinderence?

*** I POSTED THIS FIRST IN THE 'LOANS' FORUM. I KNOW REPOSTS ARE NOT THOUGHT OF IN A GOOD WAY HOWEVER, I NEED THIS SORTED BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS TODAY AND WAS NOT GETTING A QUICK ANSWER ON THERE. I APOLOGISE! ***

    Hi Aquapanther

If it were me.... I'd ring NR and explain the situation... they may be happy with a letter from your employer outlining your new salary, including whether or not its probationary....

They MAY then be prepared to increase their offer.

Thats the best i can come up with !

    Good luck ;)
  • What is the loan for? Over what period? Are there any other ways of raising the cash/saving etc?

If your pay rise is that big do you still need a loan?!

Your payslips will have to be the last three months in your new job... so you'll have to wait another three or four months. I also don't think they look favourably on someone who hasn't been with their employer for six months...

This is a debt free wannabe board so i'd say alot of people will just say can you do without borrowing.... downward spiral and all that...
Proud to have dealt with with my debts
Debt free from 18th March 2013, long may it continue!
