Anyone tried Parsleybox ready meals?

An elderly friend of mine (without internet access) has seen an advertisement in Radio Times for a cut price deal on 10 meals from Parsleybox and asked if they were worth trying.

The website is a bit irritating - several 'page not found' when I tried clicking on a couple of information buttons, and extracts from reviews where it seems you can only read the first part of a sentence or so.

If you have actually tried the meals (and it's flavour that counts, not website functionality, although helpful to have both!), please let me know your thoughts so I can pass on your views.

Yes - I have tried a few of them. My mum buys them (she is almost housebound) and I was staying with her a while following surgery recently. They are all right, a bit like your supermarket's cheap-and-cheerful range as opposed to the premium range (I'm thinking of Asda ready meals). The main selling point for my mum is they can be stored at ambient temperature, which saves on fridge/freezer space.

You would want to serve them with some extra veg on the side for the sake of nutrition IMO, but that's the case with most ready meals.

That would be enough to put me off! Asda are some of the worst ready meals available. We've tried a few different brands for my elderly mum, and Asda were dreadful.

OP, I haven't heard of Parsleybox, so I can't comment on them. However, if you have freezer space, Aldi have a very small range of frozen meals that are decent. They have fish pie (a bit sloppy, according to my mum, but tastes ok), chicken curry with rice, lasagne, and spaghetti bolognese, all at 75p and tasting fine. There's another one as well, that my mum doesn't eat, and I thin k it might be sweet and sour chicken (she doesn't like sweet and sour from anywhere). They're only 75p each.

Thank you all for your answers - sounds as if these are probably a bit expensive for what they are, although the 'non frozen' aspect is probably what appealed to my friend. The Aldi meals at 75p look a much better bet if they taste OK.

I wonder if a similar thing is available in the supermarkets ie a 'ready meal' that does not need to be stored in a fridge or freezer. Does anyone know?

If ambient storage is important, I would recommend M&S tinned savoury meals.
They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for.
The curries, stewed steak and chicken in white sauce are all lovely.
I have also had, when camping, ready made meals in pouches available in many supermarkets...chili con carne being one example.
Aldi do longlife fresh pasta which you can add their small jars of different flavoured pasta sauces, though I think most of them are two servings, though its ok to keep in the fridge for the next day if you don't mind having same dish two days running!!

I believe that all the "specialist" home delivery ready made meal firms offerings are all way way too expensive for what you get and the quality and flavour are just awful.

Thanks for the info. I was looking for something that can be stored in a cupboard. It is for my parents who are both in their 80's so they need something they can just get out and not have to store it in a freezer.
