Hi all, new to the forums! Looking to clear off my credit card and my wifes and spend. After using the MSE tools, I see the cards which are relevant to me but some say you cannot BT to pay off some one else's (wifes) debt, is this correct? Thanks in advance

Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
I’ve moved your thread from the ‘I wanna’ board to the ‘Debt-Free Wannabe’ board, where it is better suited.

We've moved balances between my MBNA card and my husband's Barclaycard without any issues over the last year or so. MBNA just required the card number, no other details.Debt-free August 21, Mortgage-neutral April 240

No it isn't correct. My son needed a car so having a 0% on purchases deal available I got him it on my card. When the deal on my card came to an end he applied for a 0% card in his name and BT'd the outstanding amount from my card to his 0% card. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
