On a different topic, when I first joined up I was reading a thread (don’t know which one:o) with someone called Roundtuit posting. Does anyone know if Roundtuit is still posting & where? I really enjoyed reading the posts & some of the back & forth was hilarious

    Thank you

I don't know about anyone else but I think that the remark about the consultant "being scared" of Holly was actually extremely unprofessional and I think it warrants an official complaint. I also find it bizarre that someone who can be told to their face how high risk the are can then be refused help (the "help" that they were forced to accept not so very long ago). Obviously a section leads to a magical cure these days.

We as a family are going through something equally bizarre. My dad was forced to have his leg amputated due to an infection. We refused the operation on his behalf - they did it anyway as it is the hospital's duty to save lives apparently. Dad has vascular dementia. He mostly has no idea that he doesn't have enough legs left to stand on his own and surprise....the infection is not only still present in what's left of him, it means he has to be in a room of his own. He needs one to one care as he keeps trying to stand up and so far there isn't a nursing home in the whole of London prepared to take him because of the infection risk. His quality of life currently - zero.

You couldn't make this stuff up could you? The money that has been wasted on trying to prolong my dads life added to the money they wasted sectioning Holly would probably pay for Holly to have the treatment that is actually required for a good long time.

Sorry for the rant but I am still quite sour that my friend whose cancer has spread to her bones has to pay to have all of her teeth removed and replaced by dentures because of her cancer treatment. You'd think that would come with the treatment wouldn't you? It probably could if the money needed wasn't being spent on other pointless stuff.

Oh Holly I'm so annoyed at the way you are being treated. I have no experience of MH issues but I wish I could be there in person to give you moral support and many hugs. Instead I shall send you lots of virtual ones.
Dumpling I do exactly the same thing and go over and over what I could/should have said. Fingers crossed things will be fine.
Cranky you have had more than your fair share of heartbreak. You rant away my lovely.

The window man left at 4.30pm and so for tea I opened a tin of curry and we've had that with a packet rice. Sorry an OS fail today :(. I am a bit more organised for tomorrow and have already made a cottage pie.
Not really looking forward to tomorrow as the wall has to be cut to accommodate the patio doors, so a lot of mess and noise expected. Fair play to the man, he has hoovered up any mess and the job looks really good. It's probably cleaner than when he started :D. He's only finished the upstairs windows (except for a small one) and there are still 7 windows left to do, plus the 2 doors. He's a bit of a perfectionist ( good for us ) so he will be here all week.
We will be up even earlier tomorrow to cover the furniture in the lounge. I will admit that I am not at my best early in the mornings and I only come to about 10am :o.
Righty ho I'm off to have a bubble bath, just to steel myself for the early rise tomorrow :rotfl:.
    Take care all.
Apologies Judi I meant to say that I'm sorry that you and your family are going through the wringer too. Extra hugs winging your way today,

    Evening from a rainy place!

Holly -it's appalling and hardly believable. I hope you get some support back in place.

Today I bought some puff and filo pastry as I want to make DM some savoury food as well as cake. She craves texture so I thought some little tarts with goats cheese, feta cheese, salmon, leeks, broccoli, asparagus and roasted tomatoes (not all in one tart!) with both types of pastry to see if that can tempt her to eat more.

I've also taken some diced venison out of the freezer to make a casserole for her. As the digger bloke is coming tomorrow morning I want to keep busy whilst he's working. He's diabetic so won't be giving him biscuits or cakes, maybe he won't mind being a tarts tester!

Somehow I've managed to do an online wine order too. :o

Well what a rotten day. SIL picked up the kids an hour ago. Diva decided she didnt want her afternoon nap although she needed it and bawled her head off all afternoon. She wanted to be cuddled, she was fine when she was being nursed but as soon as i put her down Wahhhhh! she was off again.

Waved goodbye to the Grandchildren and took the hounds for a little walk. Met an old 'friend' on the way and she asked how i was.

"Shattered" i said "ive had the Grandchildren all day"

"Just be thankful youve got Grandchildren" she said.

I didnt say anything but i was annoyed. When did i say i wasnt thankful? I love them dearly but today was a particularly tiresome day. Am i not allowed to be tired?

I'm going to have to find a walk where i meet no people.

Holly, I'm not long back from work and have just seen your post, how unprofessional was that! You are being treated very poorly, I think. I'd suggest contacting MIND as someone else has said.

Scarletribbons that was me with the boring Ness of my posts.

Today we have had pouring rain, fog drizzle then more fog with someone having a bonfire. Typical autumn day really.

I've now realised that I've been at work wearing black trousies and top, a deep blue cardigan, and a scarf in black, purple deep blue and green so everyone probably thought I was dressed as a sort of mobile bruise but were all too polite to say so.

Too tired to eat. So I've had some chocolate, to make sure that my diet is healthy and nutritious. And tea.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Holly - I too am shocked at your treatment, Floss has given great advice as have others. Try to look forward to your arrangements that you have made with your friend.

Judi - I looked after my grandchildren for the weekend, I was in bed just after they were, exhausted was the understatement. I understand what you mean completely.

Csarina - hope you are managing some rest too.

Redruby - your job sounds very demanding especially to work 7 days in a row and on some days no breaks. Very exhausting, please look after you.

Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.
