Remortgage on a Help To Buy

Hi all,
Just wondering, is it possible to remortgage on a help to buy after the initial fixed two-five year period to withdraw some of the equity to pay off other things such as car finance or do an extension to the property? or does the equity that's taken out have to go towards paying off some of the equity loan?

No. You cannot borrow more unless it is to repay half or all of the HTB Equity Loan.I am a mortgage broker. To clarify; if you had an equity loan of 50k could you take out say 35k and pay off half of the equity loan and use 20k for home improvements?0
