Unfortunately they don't have a better nature. Plenty of thoughts about this type of company here http://www.ukdic.co.uk/forum/index.php Unfortunately very little is positive although Surepass may appear to be one of the better training agencies.
  • Well, what did you expect for a misery £2000 ?

And you actually FAILED the Part 1 exam ? TWICE ? ???

Did you take a psychometric test to establish if you are actually suitable to be a fully qualified professional driving instructor ?

    If not, why not ?

25,000 people, mostly gullible, sign up for these courses every year, but only 3,000 are successful in passing all the exams.

Just because you THINK you can drive does not mean you can actually teach the subject. Not by a mile, as the FAILURES soon find out.

Horses for courses comes to mind.

Still can't believe you FAILED Part 1 TWICE. Astonishing. Quite astonishing.

For £2000 you got what you paid for, so now consider what you would have got had you paid £4000.

Where do you do your shopping, car boot sales or Sainsbury's ?

It's hard to see how you can expect a refund under the circumstances. Surely you needed to pass the test before they could provide any further tuition. It's not their fault you decided you actually didn't want to be a driving instructor after all.

    Ouch!!

A bit more info here re "Distance Learning" packages which this may come under

To sum up, Instructor Training Courses come under "distance learning" consumer law.
This basically means that after a statutory 7 day cooling off period , no refunds are applicable.
In the same way that a 12 month gym membership is paid for up front, you cant then request a refund 6 months in, as :-

    a) you gained a discount for the 12 month package / tie in

    b) you bought a product and have used it. There are no refunds in any form of life for this

In fact, UK consumer law states that refunds for any products are not to be expected. The fact that stores refund for clothing etc. is down to "goodwill" of the company / store...and they neednt do anything.
