Wiltshire Farm Foods

Has anyone tried these? Are they just for the elderly? I think they would be a good idea for myself, living alone and working full time but I've heard hit and miss reports.

Not just for the elderly, they have all different types of meals depending on whether you only need a small meal, pur!ed or just a meal

Give them a try, they usually have opening offers for new customers

No I don!!!8217;t buy them , but I work to a company that supplies their veg

My late MIL used them for a while and quite liked them, but preferred me to buy her M&S ready meals and bags of steam fresh veg instead, which was also cheaper. They're great for people who can't get out to do any shopping though, as they're delivered and MIL's delivery chap even put them in the freezer for her.

    https://www.oakhousefoods.co.uk are similar to Wiltshire.

Thanks for your replies. Just looked on the website and they only deliver during the week which doesn't suit my full time working hours. I do like M&S meals too but get tired of carrying them. I do an online shop at Ocado once a month and I order the steam fresh veg from there but am unsure about their ready meals. I also like M&S breaded fish and chicken which is quick to cook in the oven when I get home. Just trying to find some easy shortcuts to cooking :)

Another easy shortcut, is to cook on a Saturday or Sunday morning for the week ahead

I work and also need to get dinner on the table in around 30 mins. Batch cooking, use of the freezer, slow cooker, using salads really helps

Services such as these are time saving but I'm not sure they are very MSE! More MWE* :D

This bit made me roll around laughing :)
What an excuse, that's a first on me "tired of carrying them" :)

In short - Wiltshire Foods are "just ready meals" and many other firms sell "just ready meals" including all the supermarkets. Choosing any one firm over another will depend on a mix of price, delivery arrangements, minimum orders, how nice you personally find them and your storage options (fridge/freezer).

Buying from one firm won't solve the problems of liking them or not - and you might be pining for Wiltshire just because you can't easily access them ... and they're no better/worse than any others except inaccessibility grows desire :)

If you do an Ocado shop then why not order some Charlie Binghams? We love the fish pie and meatballs. If I dont want to cook then I take one of those out. Some of the Waitrose love life meals are quite nice and bizarrely I lost weight when we ate just ready meals when we didnt have a kitchen.
