When is the best time to talk to a Broker if planning a future purchase?

I have started my search for a local broker to advise me on my first property purchase.
At what point is it most helpful for myself and to help the broker carry out their work, to make an initial appointment with them?
The development I am looking at is due to launch in "Summer 2018" with completion for all phases being predicted between November to January. It will be a shared ownership apartment, if all goes well.
I am starting new employment at the end of this month so will not have a full months payslip to reflect my new income until June.
Is it too early to talk to a broker? or am I better to wait until I have my first payslip to show them.

It might be a little too early but there is no harm in getting in touch now.

Thanks, I will contact a broker for a first chat in May I think. At least by then I will have my new employment contract if they need any details from that.0
