Chromebook / tabs / Dashlane / mouse

I am thinking of getting a Chromebook for comping. I've searched the forum and they seem suitable, but can someone advise re a few points if poss? (Please excuse my non-techiness, I really am useless these days so feel free to talk to me like I'm 8 - although to be honest they'd probably still be way better at it all than me!)
1. Can I open lots of tabs at the same time without it crashing or slowing? (Say 30?) I tend to open a lot then clear them then do another batch.
2. I use Dashlane (form filler) which I definitely want to keep. Says it works (not a download, something to do with adding it to the browser) but does anyone actually use it? Does it work or does it slow it down?
3. I have 3 gmail addresses open at a time usually in separate tabs. There shouldn't be any reason for this not to work like usual should it? Not going to confuse things if a Chromebook?
4. I don't need a printer. I do like to download pics but not sure I can do this - can I download anything? Could always use my pics in my google account which hopefully I should be able to access easily enough?
5. Have read I can still use my mouse - is that on all of them?
6. Is there anything else I need to know, or that doesn't work on a Chromebook?
Any recommendations? Saw a -£100 deal in Currys although it's also pretty much the same price with a 2 year guarantee (not 1 year like with Currys) so may buy it there if I go for that one.
Many thanks!

I've had my chromebook for 6 months and I love it, I don't do everything you have mentioned so don't know from personal experience but..
Yes to lots of tabs, I tend to open about the same as you with no issues
Yes to emails, I also have 3 gmail accounts and can access them all at once with no problems

I can't answer all your questions but I can answer some.
1. Yes. I don't use a chromebook for comping but I work in a tech store and tried this myself as I was considering getting one for compingand it was fine, it only tends to slow down if each tab is doing a lot (like 30 youtube tabs for example)
2.Not sure, never used it. If it works fine as a browser addon now, it should work exactly the same with the chromebook as you use the same browser.
3. AFAIK, this works the same as on your desktop or laptop so won't be a problem. You can only have one account logged into the browser itself (for saving bookmarks and stuff) but just logging into other gmail accounts is fine.
4. The chromebook is all run through the browser so you can save the pictures to your google drive but I'm pretty sure you can't save it direct to the laptop and open it like you would on a desktop
5. If it has a USB port on it, it should work with any. I've tested a few different ones in my place of work and have plugged a mouse in with no issues but can't say for 100% certainty.
6. You can't install anything on a chromebook unless its an official chrome add on. You have to use google sheets and google docs. You wouldn't be able to install itunes or things like that on it. And it's essentially useless without an internet connection :rotfl:
In terms of places to buy one, I can't recommend anywhere good for a new one. One thing you may want to consider is getting a used one. This one for example. CeX sell them and if you have a local store, you have 14 days from you receiving it to return to store for a full refund to original payment method providing you haven't damaged it. You could always order one, try it for a week and test how it all runs. If you're happy with it, you could either keep it or return it for a refund and purchase a new one knowing that all your questions are answered. The only downside if you buy a new one outright is I don't think you'll be able to return it for a full refund if you just change your mind.0 -
Many thanks BizKiTRoAcH! Very helpful
Might buy new from JL I think (was only £206 I think).
