Afternoon good people, Do I need to tell the debt collector people (if a debt has been sold to them) I'm going to back to the original lender saying I'm disputing the debt with them. Thank you as usual.

Hi,
What is the nature of your dispute ?
If you are querying excessive charges or something of that nature, applied by the original creditor, then the complaint must go to the original creditor who originally charged you.
Anything added after the sale, complaints must go to the debt purchaser.
If its the former, then a quick email/letter to the DCA informing them of the dispute, is regarded as good practice yes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I have already explained why. There is an awful lot of people out there that claim money back off payday lenders - even though it is our own fault.LBM 10/9/13 £40,571 (SCARY). NOW DECEMBER 2016 £31,805.
