Beware. Farewill is an online wills service, not a firm of solicitors.

And although everything always looks superficially fine at the outset with companies like this any problems only arise many years later after the death. By that time it’s usually too late to do anything about it and frequently it involves heavy legal costs to try to put things right.

Solicitors make far more money out of invalid wills than creating new ones. The Law Society covers their work.

Who do you turn to if one of these online wills proves invalid?

  • Do make sure the company is regulated as you could suffer major stress and cost at a time you do not need it. There is a big problem with Barclays Bank Will division not being regulated and people are now suffering as they have no come back on Barclays.

Does anyone know if Which Wills are regulated, they are an offshoot of the Which magazine?

If not, how do I find out?

    Thank you

Much better to have a proper will done by a solicitor through Willaid.
Every year, in November I think, hundreds of solicitors join and will do a will in return for a donation to Willaid charity, the solicitor gets nothing and many match the donation.
We paid £150 a few years ago for two wills and the charity got £300 for their work.
The money goes to many large well known charities, Red Cross, NSPCC, Christian Aid, Age UK, Save the Children etc.
