CCA - clearly legible or not?

Options
Hi all,

I received this CCA today from a DCA in response to my ‘prove it’ letter. Would it be classed as ‘clearly legible’? I can’t read it all but I have shocking eyesight so I’m after opinions. If not, what reply should I send? I’m just a bit confused as I didn’t send a CCA request, I sent a ‘prove it’ letter, yet all the replies I’ve seen refer to CCA request.

Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,

What type of account was it ?

I`m guessing a store card of some sort ?

The CCA looks legit to me, however, you are correct, it is not that clear, cant see a date anywhere on it either.

Are all your personal details correct ?

A lot of the time proof of a debt is the ability to provide a legible, compliant, copy of a credit agreement.

  • Thank you for the reply, it!!!8217;s for a next account that I have no recollection of (I have a lot of debt and I accept that but I genuinely don!!!8217;t remember this. My debt whilst quite a lot is all over a couple of accounts, rather than lots of different cards and loans). My details are correct, they!!!8217;ve clearly been added after though as they!!!8217;re perfectly clear and in a different font to the rest of the agreement. There is no date anywhere on there.
  • I do not know why my apostrophes always show like that! Sorry.

Its an issue with certain browsers at the moment on MSE.

Would you agree that it is likely that this is your account, because if it isn't, then its a case of fraud, and needs dealing with differently.

Creditors can produce, what they call a "reconstituted copy agreement" which it appears is what you have received, unless there are any glaring errors in it, then you must assume it is legit, and consider it to be evidence of liability.

No date is a bit strange, are there any account numbers, details of the account, statements ?

  • They have not sent anything else, just this. So it is clear enough in itself then? I was just a bit confused as to what constitutes clearly legible really. It has my name and an address I lived at for a fairly long time, so it is possible it is mine, I just do not remember the account and was more confused as I am already paying another dca for a next account I do remember opening (different amount entirely so not the same account) seems strange that I would get two accounts?
