Is this thread a wind up? An actuary who can't count / decide on their own retirement age demanding thousands of pounds in compensation from a bank, who wrote a mortgage that doesn't even take them past the state retirement age?

I'd be taking the £350.00 and running before they change their mind. I imagine the ombudsman will find quite quickly in the banks favour on this one.

  • Had a letter about this the other week. Didn't even know about the FCA ruling but sent the complaint form back.

Have had a letter saying they're still reviewing my case etc. so will let you know what happens.

I'm a bit confused. At the time the mortgage was taken out you didn't have a retirement age in mind but have since decided retrospectively that it would be 60?
