    Depends on the reason for the checks, what department you'd be working in. Any credit check might be looking for money laundering rather than debt unless you're working in finance.

    One of mine has just 're-cleared with a CCJ. I know it's not the same, but I asked the woman who does the clearances about it, and I think the government are realistic about these things.

    Usual advice is to mention such things yourself before they see them in the checks. Makes it clear you are not trying to hide anything.
