hi, I work a few days a week from home and have set a side a small area in my bedroom to work. I am 6ft tall, most of which is leg and so need a taller desk to get my legs under comfortably. I also need one which is neat i.e under 100cm wide, so it fits in the space. I purchased one from Amazon but after a year the height adjustment part no longer "ratchets" properly. I know I could buy a normal desk and put blocks under but as I lie in bed and see the desk I don't want something ugly or something that looks bodged. Anyone out there who is tall who has pound a perfect small width desk with lots of leg room?

How about a floating desk? That would seem to fit all your requirements and comes in various styles and prices. Example https://www.wayfair.co.uk/furniture/pdp/selsey-living-grafen-floating-desk-with-shelf-slpl1068.html?piid=24383632

Do you need it to be height adjustable as someone else sits at it when you aren't using it, or do you just need a higher surface for you?
If it is the latter, then you should be able to measure the height and buy a taller desk. If it is the former, look for a good quality second hand one. There are several European manufacturers of this type of product, as well as home office manufacturers such as Ikea. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? thanks it is just me that sits there. I have measured my current desk and it is 80cm height. Most desks are 70-73cm height with a few around 76cm. Annoyingly these seem to have a wood trim under the top so defeating the extra height and taking down the leg room. One of the disadvantages of being a woman with a 36 inch inside leg is that desks, cinema seats, public transport and chairs are all proportioned for shorter people! I am happy to have a fixed height desk just so long as the clearance under is 76cm - 82cm.0

If it doesn't need to be height adjustable, that opens up a lot more options. Unless you have complex cable management needs, you can use a plain table as well as a desk, or buy a top and legs separately to get the height you need.

You may even be able to keep the top you've got and just change the legs. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Just fix one on the wall - doesn't even need to have legs to get in the way.0
