  • Has anyone managed to use the Wilko gift card successfully in store yet? The cashier told me there was a zero balance on the card when I tried using it earlier today.

Spoke to a manager who said to allow 48 hours, as it sometimes take time for the balance to be added.

    Hi Ugg,

After your experience, I got my card balance checked. There was £5 on it, which had been loaded on the 15th February (though my card only arrived in the post yesterday).

Even if your card was activated only minutes before it was sent out, it would have taken more than 48 hours to travel through the postal system (unless the Daily Mail were panicking about the 28-day deadline and used 1st Class post), so it should have been ready to use by the time you received it.

Hi. Tried it again this morning and it worked (maybe all the cards were set so as to become active from 2 March).

BTW: did you get your card balance checked in store or is there a way to do it online?

Oh good! Glad to hear it's working now.

I got the balance checked at the till - couldn't find how to check it online. Haven't actually spent it though, too much other shopping to carry!
