You need to go TOP RIGHT -> PROFILE

find PREFERENCES - NOTIFICATIONS and TURN OFF the "Email" bit for those you don't want

Anyone have any idea why I keep getting “Error1014 CNAME Cross-user Banned” messages.  I then have to change browsers (as I did trying to add this post).  It’s driving me mad!

You're not using IE are you? nothing displays properly I've changed to Chrome and it looks ok.

No, using Chrome and Safari and it happens in both (on my iPad).
