Having recently conducted extensive research into suitable nightwear for wearing in hospital myself, I don't recall having seen many which would fit your description, although I was looking for pyjamas with button up tops and short sleeves - forget it unless you want to display all your assets through the fabric!

But I think I saw some of what you want in BHS. Next time I come home on the bus I will retrace my steps through the lingerie departments and let you know ...

The name of the shop where I finally bought my pjs currently escapes me, but they also had a wide range and were very reasonably priced. Ah, it's come, Bon Marche. If you have one near you, definitely worth investigating. I'll check there too. They also do a decent range of sizes.

Hard to work out, isn't it? Wiggling into pj bottoms might be tricky though! Is there anyone you can ask about how mobile you'll be post-operatively?

I want button up pjs so I don't have to have things on and off over my head, but it's quite hard to find any which aren't made of polar fleece, and in my experience hospitals are usually very hot!

Home Alone, I haven't forgotten you, just haven't caught the bus home this week. Going shopping tomorrow, will post the results of my research then.

OK, BHS are dearer than those Chantilly ones Trafalgar found but they do have some. I think £16. Bon Marche have some for £9, not a very wide range. And I don't think either of them had the embroidery all over, just a frilly bit at the top.

I'm impressed by that Chantilly site, Trafalgar - VERY reasonable P&P rates, and you're not overwhelmed by choice! I may get that wrap if I can't find a lightweight, preferably cotton, dressing gown in shocking pink. TK Maxx had thick ones in JUST the right colour today, but v.v. short and too thick. Any suggestions?
