Mag Daily Thread

For personal reasons (some good, some bad) I am going to need to give up managing this thread.

For some reason I am now being given character limits on the front page (hence the current strange order), due to this and the formatting issues I have no choice but to give this up today. I don't have the time to try and fix it or start again and it's just becoming a daily headache. I have struggled through it for the last 6 weeks but I can't wait indefinitely for a volunteer. I will still continue to post the 6 mags I do to the main board and hopefully a new solution can be sought, based on some of the comments below I hope it doesn't affect too many people.

As we have had no volunteers come forward to take over managing the thread I am happy to make another suggestion. If someone or couple of people(they are posted separately so don't see why it can't be split) could take over the comp posting for Celebsnow, Lifedeathprizes, WhatsonTV, Woman, Womans Own, Womans Weekly then I am happy to continue managing the thread itself. I am unable to keep up both so if it easier to get a volenteer/s for this i'm up for it.

I know it is a valuable to tool to some people and don't want to leave anyone in the lurch so I will continue for a while until a new volunteer can come forward. If we haven't found anyone in a few weeks then we will maybe need to consider another alternative.

I will also put this message in the thread itself for those that don't venture into CCC.

Thank you very much for everything you have done.
Sorry I can't volunteer but health problems make me a very erratic comper so I would be too unreliable.
Can I just say that having (MD) in every title has been really helpful, when I've been away for a bit I can search that and easily find all the new ones I haven't bookmarked yet. If that is always put in the title when they are posted to the main board I really don't see why we need them all in a thread. Just my twopennarth worth.

Probably been asked before, but why don't the regular posters of the mags put new ones on front page instead of adding to the end of the thread? I mean each poster have one or two posts on the front of the thread and edit them instead of a different person doing it?

The ones added on the end link to the comp post on the main board so people don't have to go searching for them, the ones on the front page are direct to the entry page. I wasn't even here when it was originally set up so i'm just carrying on what was already in place. As far as i see it, it works but firefly, jambo and myself have discussed having our own posts and just editing our own but for me personally this would still take up a massive amount of time that I just don't have anymore. Hopefully between us all we can come up with something that can benefit most people.

I enter some of the daily mag ones but in all honesty I just save them from the main board. Do we really need a thread to collate them all especially with the (MD) now added to the title?

It seems an awful lot of work for you all, of which is much appreciated obviously

The posts on the mag daily thread get on average 5 thanks each so can't see that many people are looking at those posts (yes I know not everyone uses the thanks button) now that they are on the main comp board as well. Just wondering if you could scrap adding them on to the back of the thread altogether, and just link from the main board to the main index on the mag thread? It would mean splitting the first few posts between a few posters but it would cut out the double posting wouldn't it?

From a personal point of view i never look at the posts on the main board or on the back of the mag thread, I literally use the main index link to get me to the magazine then open my own comps from the magazine list itself. It is rare the answer to the question isn't in the write up so I don't need to refer to MSE for any answers as they are normally common sense.

I am happy to take on posting the comps from some of the mags LuckyAshWins posts. Would ideally share it with others but will do them all rather than see this much used thread perish!

If it's OK, I can make a daily post in the main thread containing all the new Mag Daily competitions for that day.

If so, I'm afraid I'll have to leave it up to other people to post the answers for each new competition and to maintain the front page as I can't guarantee that I'll have the time to do so.

I'm hoping this would free up the time people would otherwise have spent going through the websites and looking for the new competitions themselves.
