Ex-Partners debt being chased by BCW

Buchanan Clark & Wells have traced my ex-partner to my new address, and are pursuing her for a £3k debt. Basically, because we have a joint mortgage on her current house. So she must be ignoring letters being sent to that address.

I recieved 3 letters addressed to her, opened the 4th that said bailiffs would arrive at my house shortly, phoned BCW, they didn't apologise but said they'd retrace her. 5th letter has arrived saying legal proceedings will start shortly. What do i do with this one? Call them back, Call & write, ask my solicitor to deal with them???

Please help, i'm in enough trouble with my own debt let alone my ex-partners!

Return to sender. "Does not live at this address".

I returned the first 3 letters as being "not at this address", but got concerned when more arrived.

Have a read of the OFT Guidelines.

    think there is something about

    a) not harressing someone who is not the debtor.
    b) not "divulging" anything to anyone othr than the debtor.

Write a snotty letter quoting the OFT Guidelines and threatening to report them to Trading Standards, the CSA and the Information Commissioner.

The do it if you hear anything more.

    Hope this helps.
