NHS Pension application form - witness signature?

Is anyone struggling to fill in the form to apply for their NHS Pension?
You come to the end of the form & there is a complicated list of the only people who are 'qualified' to witness your signature: civil servant, physician, magistrate, etc, etc, etc :eek:
Apparently you don't need to ask one of those people - according to the NHS Pensions Helpline - it just has to be someone who is not your spouse & is a person 18 or over & registered to vote.

There's definitely no 'a' in 'definitely'.

Form AW8? The "complicated list" is only relevant if your trying to get the signature witnessed outside the UK and by someone who isn't on the UK electoral roll1

(Sorry for delay in replying Andy) Maybe I didn't read the form right - I don't remember that bit about 'only relevant if you're trying to get the signature witnessed outside the UK and by someone who isn't on the UK electoral roll.' - I'll have to have another look at the copy we kept ;-)

seem to remember that one of the kids did it! (aged over 23 and now not going to benefit from NHS pension) - he pondered for while and then confirmed that to the best of his knowledge the person signing the form was who he said he was0

It really isn't that difficult, i dont even work for the NHS but the form is online, it clearly states, right under where you sign;
The spouse or civil partner of an applicant may not witness
Persons who may witness -
A person registered in the U.K. as a parliamentary elector may witness in
any part of the world
So I suspect the answer to your question is "no, no one else is struggling"
Hopefully you arent involved in following instructions regards giving medicine to patients ?
