Hi all
My daughter, who is 13 (God where has the time gone ) is sadly incredibly prone to Acne & despite trying all different creams/wipes/facewashes nothing seems to make her skin better.
We've been to the doctors & been referred to the dermatologist, however the medication they have prescribed have done little to nothing.
I have seen on the old tellybox the advert for the Proactiv+ kits & they do a pack which lasts for a month for £18 odd plus 8% TCB. But I don't know anyone who has used it. Has anyone on here tried it?
Getting to the stage where it's really getting her down

Could you try her on benzoyl peroxide cream/gel? You can ask for it OTC at chemists (usually called Acnecide and costs £10). She would need to apply a thin layer, a few times a week, building up to every day if her skin can tolerate it. It may make her skin flake and it also bleaches fabric, so that's something to be wary of, but it's very effective.
No acne treatment is going to work overnight, more like 6 weeks to start noticing a change.
I've not used proactiv but combatted adult acne with a regime of salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, washing my face only with gentle balm cleansers and eating oily fish a few times a week. This altogether is probably a bit much for a 13 year old though!0
