We are going to be sitting in stansted airport all night to night, waiting for our 1p flight. What I want to know, is, will drinking chocolate be acceptable to drink after several hours in a flask?

I can't see that it would be any different than drinking coffee from a flask.
If you warm the flask and either boil the choclate or nuke it, it should keep piping hot for hours.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
We find it fine - the kids take it for packed lunch in a flask in the winter sometimes“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

i was a labourer on a building site for quite a while and i always used to take hot chocolate in my huge flask. i just used to make about 4 cups worth serperatly then tip em all into ma flask. i think it keeps it better me coz as your moving around all the time the hot choc is always like propa mixed up so its really smooth and chocolatey! honestly its really nice definatly recomended. only thing is it runs out so quick coz ya dont realised your drinkin so much haha
hope it helps, oh yeah where ya get your 1p flights?! any chatches involded? am lookin to go amsterdam and 1p flight wouldnt be too bad lol only prob is am going from manchester airport..debt free wanabeee0 -
the only thing you might need to think about buxton is whether you can take the flask on the flight. it would be a shame to have to waste it (the hot choc or the flask)Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

To sneak. The flights were advertised on the grabbit board. Ryanair quite often do 1p flight sales. I could only book to go tuesday and come back thursday because most of the holiday times are blacked out. However, my so, who I am going to visit has got us tickets back for saturday as it is not hols in denmark this week. Have a look on the grabbit and travel boards there may be some good prices. And no, there isn't any catches except the limitations of where the flights are going to and when.
Rach. I plan to have it all drunk and then put the flasks in the suitcase. I am guessing that will be ok as they are stainless steel not glass.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

two things: 1) i'm not sure you'd be allowed to put the flask in the suitcase.. its a vaccum, under pressure, and i seem to remember being told years ago that we couldn't take gas cartridges with us (in the suitcases) for hair because suitcases go in a compartment that isn't pressurised or something like that. I could be talking total rubbish but i think its worth checking. It would be a shame to have to throw away your flask.. or worse - a flask could be an ideal compartment for something nasty and they are so strict these days.. last time we flew from Mcr to Amsterdam, the first time under the new rules, i had a petrol lighter in my bag, a nice zippo one that my OH had given me as a present. i didn't know petrol lighters weren't allowed, and they took it off me, when i explained it was a present and had a lot of sentimental value they told me "tough". We did a great deal of fast (and extremely polite) talking to the boss and he eventually allowed us to purchase an envelope and stamps, write out our address on it and stick the stamps on it, and *he* would put the lighter in the envelope and post it to our home in Manchester. if we'd been coming the other way (i.e. Amsterdam to Manchester) we'd have lost the lighter. They really do have absolutely no sympathy for how much something cost: if its against the rules for carry on/suitcases.. then you've lost it.
2) if you want to put your flask in the suitcase, be aware that when you arrive at the airport your suitcases have to be checked in at the same time as you get your boarding ticket - i.e. at least 2 hours before you actually board. this means you'd have to drink your hot chocolate when you got to the airport, or 2 hours before you board.

Just a little
How do you think the pets and other animals that fly in the hold survive if the hold wasnt pressurised?
or what your suitcase and contents would like like if subjected to in excess of -50 degrees C for the duration of the flight?
The hold is both pressurised and heated, just like the passenger compartment.====0
